Rosenbaum Family House

Posted on Sun, Jul 3, 2016

When a serious illness or injury strikes, staying close to family is important.  Rosenbaum Family House at WVU Medicine is devoted to making this possible.  Family House is a home away from home for families of patients and sometimes for patients themselves.
Last year they served nearly 815 families who stayed an average of 12 days.  No one is turned away if they can't afford the $20 per day that's charged (itself only one-third of the actual cost of providing lodging in Family House).
Every room in Rosenbaum Family House is full every night.  On any given day some 10 families will be waiting for a room, and they may need to wait up to three days before one opens up.  This adds stress to families who are already coping with sometimes life-threatening challenges.

Rosenbaum Family House provides lodging, meals five nights a week and other support to WVU Medicine patients and their families. They are able to provide these services through the generosity of WVU Medicine and individual donors.

On Tuesday, May 24, LS Circle of American Baptist Women made their annual trip to Rosenbaum House at WVU to deliver consumable supplies they had collected.  They delivered almost $600 worth of supplies.   Thanks to all who have supported this very beneficial mission project.

Listed below are some of the items on their updated “Wish List” they will be collecting for their next trip.  Checks may be made payable to FBC with Rosenbaum House on memo line.
