Desk construction delayed

Construction of the sound desk has been delayed. When the contractor quoted our sound engineer a timeline, he had very little work. Almost immediately afterwards, he received several phone calls from other parties he had already given bids to. Most of these contracts had short deadlines. Some of them needed major things like roofs replaced or windows put in.

While this may be an inconvenience for our church, it has been a blessing for the contractor, given the current economy.  He has not sidelined the desk by any means. He is working whenever he has time on the desk, but he is not rushing it either. This desk is being built to be a beautiful addition to our church for several generations. Since the design of our new sound system has been going on for upwards of 3 years now, a little more time will not be a great addition to the upgrade schedule.
