Travis & Melissa Skinner

Baby Dedication

On Sunday, July 19, Travis and Melissa Skinner presented their son, Brody Cole Skinner, for dedication in a very solemn and heart-warming ceremony conducted by Pastor Miller. Brody was born April 16, 2009. Travis and Melissa have been active, dedicated members of FBC since January and have become a integral part of our church family.

They met August 2, 1999, on a blind date at Pizza Hut in Glenville, WV, which was the summer before their senior year of high school. Travis attended Gilmer County High School, and Melissa attended Calhoun County High School. They both graduated in May 2000, and went to WVU the following fall.
Travis majored in Pharmacy, and Melissa in Exercise Physiology. In 2004, she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology with a specialization in Aquatic Therapy. She went on to Marietta College where she obtained her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies in August of 2006. Travis obtained his Doctorate of Pharmacy from WVU in May of 2006.

They became engaged July 27, 2002, while still in college and were married May 28, 2005. They lived in Mineral Wells, WV, their first year of marriage while they were both in their last year of college and on rotations. They made the move to Weston after graduating and getting jobs in the area. Travis is the Pharmacy Manager of Wal-Mart Pharmacy in Buckhannon. Melissa is a Physician Assistant (PA-C) for Dr. Mani, a local pediatrician, and works in both Weston and Clarksburg offices.
Melissa says, “Travis and I have had quite a journey since first meeting almost 10 years ago. We survived our last year of high school, college, building a house, infertility, and now having a child together. We have always strived to keep God at the center of our relationship, and I truly believe that is what has made our marriage successful. God has blessed us abundantly, and we thank Him for leading us to First Baptist Church of Weston where we have such a wonderful Church family. Thank you all for your support.”
