BYF CAMP AT BROKEN WHEEL

Posted on Sun, Oct 7, 2007:

On Friday night, September 7th, about 20 youth and sponsors went camping at Broken Wheel campground.

Kim Biller and Allison Miller met early in the day to pick out the campsites. Allison drove the church van full of kids to the campsite while Kim and Rodney Biller went early to set up camp. Pastor Ken even made an appearance, to eat, of course. We roasted hot dogs and made smores. Veteran camper, Maxine Russell kept everyone straight and in line. Many of the kids went on a walk and got to fish. Mallory Miller caught the most fish while Laura Mosley and Haley Biller constantly snagged their line. Everyone had fun singing around the camp fire. Jack Hayhurst and Tyler Wilt stayed up all night and poked the fire and chased off raccoons!

It was a wonderful time of food, fun and fellowship. It was a great way to start the fall Baptist Youth program as it preceded Rally Day. For some, it was their first tent camping experience. The youth group can count on many other fun events being planned for the coming months. The things you learn about each other sitting around the campfire - - - T M I!! Hope to see all our middle school and high school youth for Sunday school and youth fellowship on Sunday nights.
