Congratulation to the Class of 2015

A Prayer for our graduates: May God's blessing follow you all as you find new journeys to travel. May you walk safely along the pathways of your dreams. May His gentle hand guide the decisions you will make and the passions that you follow. May you always stay true to your dreams, to use your gifts wisely, and to walk into the future with faith, hope, and great love. Amen

Quinten Squires is the son of Larry and Crystal Squires, and brother to Mayli and Violet Squires.  He is the grandson of Richard and Patty Wine and Lek and the late Harry Squires all of Weston.

He has been on the Honor Roll all four years of high school  and a member of the National Honor Society.  He has been Captain of the Quiz Bowl Team for the past three years and Captain of the Math Field Day Team for the past two years.  Quinten participated in the Team American Rocket Challenge as a member of the Lewis County Rocket Team.  He was also a player for the LCHS football team.  As a member LCHS newspaper staff, two of his articles won awards at Marshall University.  He will be graduating in the top ten of the Class of 2015.

Quinten is currently employed at Wendy’s.  He is also a part-time student at WV Wesleyan and plans on becoming a full-time student there in the fall.  He has already been accepted into their Honor’s Program and will pursue a Master’s in Business Administration and Minor in Economics.

Haley Biller is the daughter of Kim Dodd and Rodney Biller. Her grandparents are Joanne and Phillip Shamblin and Mary Ellen and Sam Biller. Haley has attended First Baptist Church of Weston her whole life. Haley is involved in Youth Alive, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, National Honor Society and a member of the Yearbook staff at Lewis County High School.

She was baptized in the church on December 6, 2009, after she accepted Christ on June 29, 2009, while attending Fisher Baptist Camp.

She now works every summer at Fisher Camp and helping there is truly one of her passions. Haley plans to attend Glenville State College in the fall.

Kyle Rogers is the son of Steve and Melissa Rogers, and the grandson of Nancy Rogers and the late Randal Rogers, Ron and Linda Turner, Dane and the late Sharon Skidmore. 

He has been a member of the First Baptist Church of Weston for 8 years where he has participated in many activities.  He was cast member in most Christmas and Easter performances since pre-school.  He has been faithful to volunteer in many capacities of church including Operation Christmas Child, Salvation Army Bell Ringers, and American Red Cross Blood Drives. 

While in high school, Kyle has been involved in National Honor Society, FFA, football and LCHS wrestling team.  He was a member of the LCHS wrestling team all four years and three of those years, he placed in the top four at the WV State Wrestling Tournament in Huntington including State Championship his junior year.

Kyle attended Mountaineer Boys State in June of 2014.  He has earned a 3.8 GPA and will graduate 21st in his class. 

Kyle's future plans include attending WVU and majoring in Pre-medical Biology while being a member of the Mountaineer wrestling team.  Upon completion of his bachelor’s degree, he plans to attend graduate school to become a Physical Therapist.  He would like to thank his church family for all the love and support they have shown him.

Travis Hayhurst, 16, son of Robert and Nancy Hayhurst, will graduate June 12, 2015.  Travis was selected to attend the Mountaineer Challenge Academy at Camp Dawson, Kingwood, WV.  He attended Jane Lew Elementary, RLBMS, and LCHS.  Travis played soccer, football, and basketball.  He is a member of First Baptist Church.  Pastor Eric Kendall served as Travis’s mentor while attending the Academy.  After graduation, he wants to continue in the military and become a minister.

Mallory Miller is the daughter of Rev. Ken and Allison Miller of Weston.  Mallory will graduate from West Virginia University School of Nursing on Saturday, May 16, 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  Mallory has been the recipient of many scholarships during her college years and has continued to serve her community both in Weston and Morgantown.  She has been employed at Ruby Memorial Hospital on the neurology floor and will remain a resident of Morgantown, West Virginia.

Kristi Goe the daughter of Bob and Jackie Goe.  She will be graduating from Fairmont State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. After graduation, she plans on starting to search for a job and eventually go to graduate school at WVU to get her MBA.

Ryan Turner will graduate on May 16 from West Virginia University with a Master degree in Secondary English Education.  Ryan is the son of Brett and Sonya Turner and the grandson of Ed and Loretta McElwee and Leamon Turner and the late Ruth Turner.  
While at WVU, Ryan became a member of the Phi Sigma Theta National Honor Society.  He did his student observations and student teaching at East Fairmont High School.  Also while attending classes, he worked at Arby’s restaurant and is now a manager there.  
Following graduation, Ryan hopes to get a full-time teaching position or plans to be a substitute teacher in Marion and Monongalia Counties.  
Ryan would like to thank the church for giving him a wonderful foundation for his life as he moves on to the next stage.
