Revival Schedule

Dr. David Carrico will be the evangelist for this year’s revival service. Dr. Carrico is currently the executive minister of the WV Baptist Convention in Parkersburg of which FBC is affiliated.

 
Dr. Al Washburn will again be the music director. He will be organist as well as director of the Revival Choir.

Dr. Al Washburn, Allison Miller’s father, is a native of North Carolina. He is currently retired and living with his wife, Sylvia, in Jacksonville, FL, where he previously served as Minister of Music and Organist at First United Methodist Church. He has served as minister of music and organist in various denominations in Florida, Louisiana, Kentucky, Georgia and California. He held the post of Professor of Music at Brewton-Parker College in Mount Vernon, GA, for 13 years. 


Dr. Washburn is a graduate of Stetson University in Deland, FL, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in church music and organ performance. He earned three degrees at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary culminating in the D.M.A. degree. He has also studied abroad at Kaiserslautern, Germany, was a Research Scholar at International Baptist Seminary in Ruschlikon, Switzerland, and has attended seminars at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ.


The Rev. Dr. David L. Carrico, a 1969 graduate of Alderson-Broaddus College, received the Master of Divinity from Crozer/Colgate Rochester Divinity School and his Doctorate in Ministry from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1983. 


Dr. Carrico currently serves as the executive minister of the WV Baptist Convention, which has 400 churches and close to 80,000 members. He was the senior pastor of the First Baptist Church in Beckley, WV, a post he held from 1989-2005. Before that he served pastorates in Clarksburg and Huntington, WV; Utica, NY; and youth ministries in Philadelphia, PA and in Beckley, WV.
Dr. Carrico’s extensive community commitments also reflect a strong Christian engagement. He was co-founder and board member of the Health Right Clinic in Beckley, co-chair of the Spirit of Beckley Award Committee and a member of the distribution committee of the Beckley Area Foundation. For 16 years he served as a fireman and chaplain of the Ghent Volunteer fire Department in Ghent, WV. He has served as chaplain for the VA Medical Center in Clarksburg, for the Nutter Fort Fire Department, for United Hospital Center, and for the Huntington Fire Department in Huntington, WV. He is a charter member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, and was voted Citizen of the Year by the Clarksburg Jaycess. He was a recipient, with his wife, Janey, of the S. Ward and Evangel Robinson Ministerial Team Award at AB College. 
Dr. Carrico and his wife Janey, a 1970 graduate of AB College, are the parents of five adult children: Timothy, Matthew, Adam, Lisa and Amy. The Carrico’s have six grandchildren.
