Beating Busyness

Posted on Mon, Mar 3, 2008

Beating Busyness had its last session on February 24, 2008. We just got too busy in December to finish the book. Pastor Miller initially said it would run for six weeks if anyone participates. (Note to Pastor Miller: Never set a time limit on anything where you have Sharla Vickers, Lynn Fultineer and Debbe Frick in a discussion group.) Guess everyone wants to know if we leaned how to “Beat Busyness”. Well, for those who missed out on this very rewarding experience, here is a short overview of conclusions drawn from this study group.
1. We checked our daily activities and then separated them according to how much time we spend on each. So, now, God has a much larger chunk of our time
2. We found that everyone has their own type of “busyness” and beginning the day with God in prayer can only make the day better.
3. Everyone needs to take quality, personal time to talk to God and to listen to Him. We need our own retreat… no matter where it is.
4. And one of the most important things, we began the fellowship as “friends in Christ” and because of the sensitivity of the “subject matter” and everyone’s honesty, we are leaving with a closer bond.
