LADIES NIGHT OUT

Posted on Thu, Sep 6, 2007

Once again, there was lots of laughter and smiles as 19 ladies form our church enjoyed Ladies Night Out.

The evening began with a sit down dinner of ham, fried chicken, potato casserole, corn on the cob, hot rolls, fresh green beans, fresh sliced tomatoes, and the special treat was homemade peach cobbler with homemade ice cream. After dinner we had with us a special guest, Beth Ann Kopplin. Beth Ann grew up on this farm, this was the Hardman Farm, and she shared with us some things about the farm, the house, her family, and then took those who wanted to walk outside the house to see the Loom house which had been renovated. John and Sue Ann Spiker, shich is Adeline Spiker’s son and daughter-in-law, purchased the farm from Mr. and Mrs. Hardman and have done a fantastic job renovating the house and farming the land.

Once everyone gathered back inside, we had a White Elephant Gift Exchange, sith some ladies getting a little nervous about losing whatthey had gotten. In the end,a few left without their original gift, but still were happy. We found out what fruits represented, which ladies, and why. That was very interesting, then the final group game was passing a pretzel with a Q-tip from one-person to another. Laughter rang through the house, actually the Spiker’s had came in to get dinner while we were playing our games, and when one lady went into the kiten, she was asked what was all the laughing about! Sue Ann and Jonelle were walking outside and said looking through the window and hearing the laughter meant a lot to them.

Only seven ladies stayed all night, two went to bed and five of us stayed up and played Mexican dominoes. What a great game! At 1:30 a.m. when some of us could hardly keep our heads up, we decided it was time to turn in.

Morning came early and we arose and set on the front porch and enjoyed coffee and the fresh air. It was a wonderful time and the fellowship was fantastic.
