Appreciations Extended in February

Posted on Sat, Mar 4, 2006

- Youth Coordinator Carla Pratt would like to thank everyone who helped make Valentine's Day a special weekend for our shut-ins! Thank you to everyone who supplied cards for them and to our youth, and all my helpers for baking cookies. Also thanks to Rev. Miller, John Snyder, Richard Wine, Jim Vickers, Debbie Frick, Lynn and Leonard Posey and Bill Pratt for taking the youth to deliver and visit with our shut-ins.

The Christian Ed Board would like to thank everyone for their support of our annual Sweetheart Dinner. With approximately 80 people in attendance, a good time was had by all. We especially thank our youth for doinga great job serving and helping with the entertainment. We extend a special thanks to Allison Miller for helping prepare and serve the meal. Special recognition goes to our local businesses that helped support our dinner by donating to us Dinner-for-2 gift certificates by KFC, Courtyard LLC, Henry Flesher's, Olde Mill Diner, Hickory House, Giovanni's and the Camden Deli and Eatery. Prize winners: John & Becky Warder, Robert & Nancy Hayhurst, Harry & Charlotte Barnhart, Gene & Kathy Shackleford, Becky Warder, Lisa Shamblin, Anna Posey, Brooke Turner and Ricky Carroll. Decorating was done by Cathy Fisher with flowers being donated by Cathy and O'Suzanna's Florist. Last but definately not least, thanks to all who helped clean-up!

VALENTINES APPRECIATED

Shut-in members Loraine DeBrular, Carol Moneypenny, Floda McNemar, Sarah Paugh, and Frankie Smith thank you for the beautiful valentine cards, cookies and candy sent them. They all agreed it was a special treat for the visit as well!

Rev. Jim Crouch expresses his deepest appreciation for the cards, visits and prayers received during the illness and passing of his wife, Gloria.  He especially thanks Rev.Miller for bringing members in the church van to the funeral.
