First Baptist Church of Weston

    Rev. Miller began pastoral duties November 7, 2004 here at Weston First Baptist Church.  His Christian ministry began at the Baptist Student Union while attending the University of Louisville.  After graduation in 1979 he attended the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louiseville, KY and served as Pastoral Assistant/Youth Minister at a Methodist church.  After graduating from seminary in 1982 he became the Assoicate Pastor in charge of Christian Education and Youth at the FBC of Kenova, WV and again in 1988 at the FBC of Marietta, OH.  God called him to the senior pastoral duties in 1993 at the First Baptist Church of Ravenswood, WV where God richly blessed his ministry for eleven years.

    Ken and his lovely wife, Allison, were married in 1980.  Their daughter, Mallory was born in 1991 and son Nolan in 1993.  When God called Ken and his family to leave Ravenswood it was the most diffcult desicion, especially where the children were concerned he has ever made.  He continues to follow God's will here at First Baptist Weston.

Nancy Rogers became our Church Secretary December 3, 2007. Nancy has been a very active member of First Baptist Church for many years.  She has served as a Sunday School teacher and on the Deacon and Finance Committees just to name a few.  Mrs. Rogers attended Fairmont State College as a non-traditional student to earn her bachelor's degree in Business Education with a minor in Library Science.  After graduation, she taught for JTPA Program and was a substitute teacher for the Lewis County School system.  In January of 1997 she was employed by Fairmont State in the library located in the "Clarksburg Center," which in the summer of 1999 moved to its new building, the Gaston Caperton Center.  She became Program Assistant 2 in 2002 at the Caperton Center as a Technology Liaison.  Starting in March of 2005, she worked at the Lewis County Center until her retirement in December, 2006 as Administration Secretary Senior.

Kim Gum has been serving our church as treasurer over 6 years. Kim is married to Dave and they have 2 children, Kasey and Preston. We are very blessed to have Kim as a part of our staff.

Nancy Hayhurst serves as the church custodian. She has been serving FBC for 18 years. Nancy is married to Robert;  Nancy has blessed our church with her exceptional services! She is there every morning even on major holidays to keep our church in clean condition.  We thank Nancy for providing the services she does for our church!

 

Sharla is our Choir Director here at First Baptist. Her job is to lead the congregation and choir in many worshipping songs. We have been blessed with her services that she has given to the church! She is married to Jim who is  a deacon of our church, and is a well known barber.

Eugenia plays the pipe organ at our church and she has enjoyed doing her job here at FBC.  We are so happy to have Eugenia part of our services. Eugenia has been our organist for many years. She is really good at what she does and we are once again very glad to have a marvelous musicians.

Genelea is the pianist here at church. She has been blessing us with the music of God for over 15 years. We thank her very much. May God continue to bless her and her talent!

Jason Posey has been our sound man for several years. He recently graduated college so now he can dedicate more time to the audio ministry. He records the Sunday morning services and some other activities. He also produces the CD's available to anyone who like a copy of the service. He is also currently designing a new sound system to upgrade the current aging system. Steven has been serving as our volunteer Media Director since October of 2003. His job is to primarily display lyrics to songs and announcements and control our on screen projection system here at FBC. Steven currently attends Marshall University and is majoring in Electronic Media Management. Steven trys to make it back to Weston every weekend to do his job here at the church but sometimes the weather can prevent that.
